"The beauty of a photograph lies in the reflection of light that seems to penetrate the heart, soul and mind of the observer... "
Harold Ross Jr.

Harold Ross, Jr. is a Fine Art Landscape Photographer living in Johnson City Tennessee. Like the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Harold Ross Jr's photography is somewhat of a hidden gem in this area. The seed of his passion was planted during his childhood days in the Boy Scouts. In his pursuit of Eagle Scout Harold hiked many segments of the Appalachian Trail and camped in numerous Parks, National Forest and Wildlife Management Areas of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It was through these experiences that made Harold aware of the vast beauty that our region has to offer.

Harold earned the rank of Eagle Scout, went on to high school and then to Milligan College to obtain his 4 year degree in Business.

After graduating from Milligan College, Harold started a career in sales. During this time in his life he also took up the hobby of Fly Fishing. It was through his pursuit of finding some of the best Fly Fishing streams in East Tennessee, Southwest Virginia and Western North Carolina that his passion for capturing these special places grew. Harold states " I want to share and emphasize the diversity of beauty that each distinct season brings to the valleys, woodlands and mountain highlands our area of the country has to offer."

In November 2009 Harold was diagnosed with Esophageal Cancer. For 12 long months Harold courageously battled through chemo treatments, surgeries and more chemo treatments. It was his faith in God, love of family and support from his wonderful friends he is cancer free today.

In his 25 years of shooting, Harold has an even greater sense of appreciation for life, love and relationships that have carried him in his pursuit of that perfect reflection of light that represents the simplistic beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

He thanks you for visiting his website to view the images he has captured through his journey of Grace....
